The Skinny on Student Benefits

Generally, BMA-Milwaukee defines a “college student” as someone:

  • Currently enrolled in classes at a college, university, technical college or some post-high school institution of higher learning;

  • Who is taking 9 or more credits (6 or more for graduate students), and is engaged in the process of receiving a post-high school degree (associate, bachelors, masters)

  • Not employed full time.
    NOTE: “Full time” employment may be generally defined as 40 hours/week in a professional position.

College students who meet the above criteria may:

  • Attend their first Regular BMA Monthly Meeting free of charge.
    (See Events for details.)

    NOTE: Registration required! Go to www.bma-milwaukee.org/events.asp for meeting schedule, information, and registration link!

    Regular Monthly Meetings do not include the Bell Awards, the annual Holiday Party, BMA Golf Outing or other special events as determined by the BMA-Milwaukee Board of Directors.

  • Upon attendance of one Regular BMA Monthly Meeting, a student is considered a “Student Member” and will receive email information about upcoming BMA meetings and events.

  • After attending one free meeting, the cost for students to attend any Regular Monthly Meeting is $10.00.

Should a student in the course of being a student member of BMA-Milwaukee fail to meet any of the above criteria, their status as a student member will be void. (i.e. stop attending college, fall below 9 credits, find fulltime employment, etc.)

We then encourage and welcome past student members to become full professional members of BMA-Milwaukee.
